To accelerate the construction of a modern textile industry system, promote the establishment of a responsibility-oriented green, low-carbon, and circular textile system, accelerate the high-quality development and transformation of the recycling and reuse chemical fiber industry, and actively address common problems encountered in industry development, the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association held the "2023 Annual Conference and Industry High Quality Development Forum of the Recycling and Reuse Chemical Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association" in Jiangyin, Jiangsu on November 2-3, 2023. Chen Xinwei, President of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, He Yanli, former Vice President, as well as industry leaders, experts, production enterprises, researchers, and upstream and downstream enterprises from the industry, gathered together to discuss the development plan of the recycling and reuse chemical fiber industry. The forum was chaired by Li Deli, Secretary General of the Recycling and Reusing Chemical Fiber Branch of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association.

Chen Xinwei, President of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, stated in his speech that with the recovery of global terminal consumption and the gradual upgrading of consumer demand, the textile and chemical fiber market is expected to enter a recovery period. While improving external factors, recycling and reusing chemical fiber enterprises must also continue to "train their internal skills." On the one hand, they need to increase their research and development of differentiated and functional products, increase product-added value, and create product brands. On the other hand, we need to strengthen technological transformation, focus on breaking through key technologies for high-value utilization of waste textiles, and form industrialization as soon as possible. At the same time, it is necessary to closely cooperate with downstream domestic and foreign brands, improve market recognition, and build the corporate brand image.
Zhu Meifang, academician of the CAS Member and dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Donghua University, delivered a video message. She pointed out that developing a circular economy is an important strategy for China's economic and social development and is an important way to achieve the goals of the "dual carbon" strategy, promote green economic growth, ensure national resource security, and promote ecological civilization construction.

At the meeting, experts and scholars from relevant national departments, research institutes, and upstream and downstream of the industrial chain discussed and shared topics such as the macroeconomic situation at home and abroad, analysis and countermeasures for the development of recycled chemical fibers, product carbon footprint accounting, carbon trading, brand supply chain demand for recycled fibers, industry standards, and certification systems.
